Savage 110 rebarrel

You would be better off to just buy my $289 pre-fit barrel brand new. You're going to spend the same amount rechambering your burnt up barrel. Then you can just pick whatever caliber you want.

I'm not really sure what the advantage to going to even more powder in a 6 mm would do. I would suggest at maximum a 6 Creedmoor.

What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^

Again.......does the barrel have enough 'meat' to rechamber ?

I had a customer that rented the 6mm Rem reamer and sat in front of the TV and reamed his barrel by hand using a T handle. Set the brass protrusion to .130". I don't have that reamer because no one asks for it.
I know someone that hand reamed a 37XC!
That’s dedication!

Op, just get a new pre fit.
A 243 is going to scorch a lot of barrel in front of the chamber pretty fast.

A full turn facing cutoff of a 1-16 thread barrel would only be .0625, two full turns would be twice that number. You could simply re-chamber with a 243 Win reamer and march on. So if, say a .1250, or 1/8" cut will get the throat cleaned up and I wanted to keep my barrel that would be a good option. An advantage of the Savage nut system, easily change a barrel or repair a barrel throat.

3.5" groups at 500 yards. If it was mine I'd clean, polish, and shoot it until it opened up at 500 to 1 moa or a little more or started throwing flyers. This if you're banging steel. Order a Urbanrifleman Wilson barrel and have it sitting waiting.

Tried the 243 in it's first "belly" match. Targets were set up from 200 to 900 yards. I was shooting 90 grain bullets and I was really struggling with this gun. I felt the 90 grains couldn't fight the wind past 600 yards.
I'm going to finish off the last 20 rounds I loaded for this match and retire this barrel. It was an eye opener to see what GT, CM, and Dashers could do despite using less powder and shooting heavier bullets then the 243.
I hunted with the 243 for over 20 years and it has never let me down but it's just obsolete.
My plan now is to rebarrel the savage to a 6 CM and hope the blind mag will still work. I already bought an Origin action and it should be at the FFL tomorrow. I'll barrel the Origin in 6 xc just to see how it will do. I did asked a lot of the shooters at the match about the xc and all of them didn't care about that round but I might to try it anyways when funds become available.
This is my plan right now and if the xc or CM doesn't work out, it no big deal. I can always try something else.
