First time posting here, and I read as much as I could on this forum. A little back story on me before I ask my question. I'm an avid PCP shooter for the past 10 years but I have been reloading PB for the past 8 years. I first started with a 22-250, then a 308, played around with a .223, and now have a 243 long action 110. I had my local gunsmith rebarrel the 243 to a heavy varmint 1-10 twist Shilen about 5 years ago. I bore scoped the barrel two weeks ago and noticed the throat is burned out but the barrel is still producing 3.5 inch groups at 500 yards. I am thinking of getting a 6.5X284 barrel because I already have brass and dies for a my .284 winchester bench gun.
Now my question: Can I ream my burned out 243 to a 6mm Remington? I would hate to throw the burned out barrel in the trash but give it a new life when it's time to rebarrel. I looked up the specs on the 6mm Remington and it looks like this could be done.
