saubier.com

I learned a ton from Saubier, mainly that those who think the 22 Hornet is a problem cartridge and inaccurate and fussy are full of sh+t. Great site about 5-10 years back. Learned a ton, left it to the birds and seems it is now gone for good. In any event, RIP

Correct.

Very knowledgeable, but also critical, rude and a bully.
"Urniary Olympics".....had to grin with that one, but agree, not so much here.

Austin (weasil), been out much for rats this year?
Hi Rick. I have not made it out as much as intended. Poisoning has shut down most of my local private access unfortunately. I did have a nice Chuck walkabout a week ago testing out the new Hornady 62gr Eld VT at 3350 FPS muzzle velocity in a new "ugly" 223 Ackley.
I'll post up some pics of the walk about shortly

At one time, it was the premier site for small caliber info. When Jim Saubier moved West some years ago (Montana or Wyoming), his involvement with the site pretty well ceased.

I remember when I first stumbled onto the Saubier site, it was chock full of great pictures and info. Great stuff for sure and no one was rude or critical back then, it was a great time to be involved with small calibers for sure. I still check to see what's going on with it but think it's best days are behind us. Glad Jim is living his best life in Montana and thankful most of the small caliber family is here going forward. Much easier to post pics here too.

It might be much easier to post pics here but most of the problem with posting photos on Saubier was brought about by photobuckets extortionary tactics.
All the information that has been lost on Saubier isn't going to be replicated here and many of the contributors of that information aren't active on forums or aren't with us anymore.
There was a lot of answers and information on many many topics that relate to small calibers and reloading for small calibers which will leave a vacuum that I don't think will ever be filled.

Well then, very much looking forward to seeing those walkabout pics soon.
Is there such a thing as an ugly 223AI? Not according to "Rick's Law of Rifles". lol

And now after weeks of Saubier being down, I'm now wondering if we'll ever see it back up again. I sincerely hope we do.

Unfortunately still “Down for maintenance”. Sure hope it gets resurrected - tons of good information there that will disappear forever if the site is lost.

Who is running saubier.com these days? Are they in need of financial support to keep it running? Anybody know?

My guess would be S. Perry -a legend in his own mind.

Don't think so. My guess is the fellow named above. Seems to be the consensus.

I truly hope Saubier comes back to life. I just can't imagine yet another great site going away and losing all that very valuable information, not to mention the camaraderie among small caliber shooters.

According to Linkedin, Jim Saubier is the owner of saubier.com. I sent him a message so hopefully I'll hear something from him.
I sent Jim a message almost 2 weeks ago and another one a week ago on LinkedIn. No response yet, he seems quite busy having fun and living life.
