Junebug, John Newman, home from Atlanta, and Jim Newman,
home from Memphis for the weekend came over to the range
this evening. John is in chiropratic school and Jim is in
U.T. Dental School. They found me eating pizza at the Stagecoach.
We shot AR's in 223, 308, and 22 rimfire. I had never shot
a compact 1911 but Jim brought his Colt compact in 9 MM.
I loved it. No recoil and seemed to be as accurate as it's
full size brother.
We shot Bug's 6 x 47 with 87 V-max out to 800 yds.
A Sako Model 75 in 6 PPC with a Burris Eliminator scope was
awesome at the 240 yard egg rack.
Bug's Borden TPE warmed at the egg rack at 240 yds and loaded
with 107's the eggs didn't make white mist, they just disappeared.
We shot a Bat BRX with 107's. Then just before dusk the wind went
down and I pulled out a few DTAC 115 boron nitrite coated rounds
and told Junebug conditions were getting right for 800 yd eggs.
I took about 5 shots to warm the barrel and zero. The 5 th shot hit
12 o'clock 4 in. high. I dialed it in and took one more sighter.
Touched the one in. bull. Next shot was at the egg. I thought it
just missed a hair high. 2nd shot on the egg I held at 6 o'clock.
Junebug and I had scrambled eggs to close the day.

The last 3 times Bug and I have shot together we have made a
800 yd egg kill.

A RUSH. That's what I'm talking about.

By the way Voldoc. It was with the Shilen barrel again.
