Sunday evening Junebug, Kruzan, Alan Long, & Tim Hewitt
came over to the range. We started out with the
230 yd egg rack. Bug had his 6 Turbo and Kruzan a CZ 223.
Then we shot a few pistols at a spring loaded popper.
32 Colt, 280, 9mm Hi-Power, & Kimber 45. The only
one that could lay the popper all the way back was the 45.
The wind went to nothing and we were ready to go long.
Kruzan got his Viper 6 Dasher out and
Bug got his Zebra 6.5 x 47 Diamondback. I went and painted
all the metal at 800 and put out 3 eggs.
I was first and fired about five to zero and warm the BRX up.
I dialed her in and went for the egg. Close but a miss.
Tried another but no. Back to Ole Chuckie. I was going to
rezero on his head as his chest had hits. I took a couple of
sighters and she looked real good.
Pressure mounted as I had 4 guys watching through their scopes.
Next shot looked a hair high judging by the dirt berm behind the egg.
Alan Long agreed. I held a half inch below the egg and touched
the Jewell.
Yoke and white egg shell filled the air as the 115 Boron Nitrite
bullet seemed to center the egg.
The Ole Bat BRX came through again in the clutch.
Scrambled egg at 800 yd.
What a "RUSH"
Total shots fired including zeroing was ten.
