Rusty chamber pics . How bad is it ?

We in FL have this problem continually with ACs in vehicles and temperature changes going to or coming from ranges with the humidity. It is a good idea the put g-96 on a patch and swab out your chamber after cleaning or shooting.
I carry a mallet, rod and a bore brush in my range box. Fine scotch brite will work as will 00 steel wool with oil on a bore brush oversized for the chamber. Reason for carrying a cordless drill in the bottom of your box. Our days are frequently 98/98 and the guns in a vehicle with AC causes sweat in side the steel chambers.

So my old faithful deer gun , first gen ruger american 308 has some rust in the chamber !! This has never happend on any on my guns so not sure what to do . Its light rust nothing bad but still not sure what to to ...
Ill try get a pic when home ..
Should I try find a brush that fits the chamber to get it out then oil it with a mop? Guess thats all that can be done ?

Buy a wooden dowel rod cut it about 12” long. Cut a slot in the end about ¾” deep. Put a strip of wet or dry 600 or 800 grit sand paper in the slot with some light viscosity lube on it and spin it in the chamber with a drill. Make sure you don’t get sandpaper grit in the trigger mechanism. Masking tape over the trigger\magazine area might protect it. Use minimum lube so it doesn’t drip. When your finished pull the sandpaper off the rod when it's over the magazine so you don’t have to pull it over the trigger and shroud area.

Steel wool will leave a lot of pieces of steel all over the trigger/shroud and barrel. Might work. Steel wool won't polish like 800 grit sand paper.
