Exactly!Shape is not as critical as consistency in thickness and quality
Those sizes sound big to me for the type of jag I use.For .22 cal -1-1/4" Sq
6 mm - 1-3/4" sq
30 cal -2" round
This is what works the best for me. Shape is not as critical as consistency in thickness and quality = Pro-Shot.
I just cleaned my tikka varmint in 223 with square 1 1/8 pro shot. I also have another bag pro shot labeled for 22 cf but are 1” roundThose sizes sound big to me for the type of jag I use.
You are right, the jag size matters-I use for .22 cal jag= .166" / for 6mm jag = .185" / for .30 cal jag = .250"Those sizes sound big to me for the type of jag I use.
Used with ParkerHale jags hard to beat.Square - Pro Shot cotton flannel. Best patches I've ever tried.
I buy oversized and place the jag closer to a corner, small learning curve but very effective and no waisted time trimming!Square… but I buy them oversized then trim for a tight fit in the bore with my jags…
Didn't get enough contact area, maybe used them wrong? They just slide through the bore.Neither. I like the triangle notched better. Seems to get better surface contact. It is a Bore Smith product. See pic.
Not real sure. I normally get good contact with the small and large sizes.Didn't get enough contact area, maybe used them wrong? They just slide through the bore.
