rockchucker primers and primer debris every where when decapping

i am using an inline fabrication stand on my bench and its hard to get a container under the rockchucker, before i had it on the edge of my bench and i could put a be flat plastic container under and catch all the primers and that little black dust/debris they leave.

i used a de capping die

anyone have a similiar problem and more important, has anyone come up with a solution?

maybe i am being to picky here, but spent primers on the bench, falling on the floor, black primer dirt everywhere.

Here's what you need right here!;) http://www.primercatcher.com/

This ^ is where I would go if I were you,

luckily Im not and have a forster which does it all perfectly for me :D The only primers Ive ever spilled were when I was walking to empty the cup and snagged my toe on the door sill. I tumbled to the floor in addition to the cup of primers

A guy I shoot with makes these. I think they are $25. If you want one met me know.

I ordered one last night for my rock Chucker II from “ The German”. I will consider this my monetary contribution to the accurate shooter site, your welcome.

I never scorn the day I purchased my first, second, third or fourth Rock chucker. I have shop skills and there is nothing about reloading that drives me to the curb. I use 3M black electrical tape to hold the primer catcher this method has never failed me; granted, I do not spend any time looking for a reason to wine. For color coordinating 3M makes red and green electrical tape.

I can only guess the Rock Chuckers that are giving reloaders a fit are the cam over bumper presses. My rock Chuckers do not cam over and I find it impossible to bump the bottom of the die at the top of the stroke. If my Rock Chucker cammed over it would not work when attached to my Piggy Back attachments.

I can not imagine anyone complaining about something they could fix.

About 5 years ago I became so frustrated with the crappy primer catcher system RCBS made for the Supreme press that I developed the Primer Guard catching system. It sold fairly well, that is until the 3D printers came out. Here's a short video of it.

I just use a piece of 1/2 inch thick foam behind the primer catcher to keep it snug against the ram and a small piece of plastic drink straw inside to keep them from popping out the front, works great now. However until I figured out how to cure it though I used a Lee "O" type I had set up to use as a portable press for loading at the range to deprime

Mine chucks stuff around, and onto the floor. I have learned to place my hand in front of the press when sizing and de-priming.

I have my rockchucker on a inline stand, I drilled a hole through my bench top and put a clean plastic tube and it ran it into a bucket under my bench works perfect no primers on my floor

Deprime with Wilson base and punch and a hammer.....serves as early detection for loose primer pockets, and spent primers and debris is contained.

I used to have to deal with the debris from depriming and spent primers on the floor. I like to keep my press rams clean and nicely lubed, and of course this just attracted the residue. For a while I switched to depriming on my Forster Coxial, but later switched to what I use now.

If you want to really know if your primer pockets are starting to enlarge, deprime using a Harvey depriming tool. Can use it anywhere, and just like hand priming lets you really know how the new primers fit, this lets you know brass that should be discarded.

I have the catcher made by The German. It works.
I am disturbed only by the fact that RCBS has never corrected this problem on its own. If I had know about this problem at time of purchase along with the assumption the press was made here, I would be using a Redding press right now.
