I am getting ready to buy my first rifle on a RimX action for PRS shooting I noticed that there are quite a few on auction gun websites from many distributors all built. Is this the best way to go or should I have a good gunsmith build it for me? Recommend builders? There are little or no used ones up for sale. I am sort of a newbie at 22 precision shooting so I need some really experienced advice on this purchase. I have a $3500 to $4000 budget

Did Rim-X get the material problems corrected and were the defective ones recalled? I read numerous articles that they had a galling problem on the bolts due to a material change. Supposedly the problem was for serial numbers 2998 and above.

My 17 HMR shoots great. I just bought a Lothar Walther barrel and screwed it on myself.
For a competition 22 I would have someone like Lee do the barrel work. He has a RimX..
