Rimfire target ammo

Some time last year I picked up a few boxes of Norma USA TAC-22 22 long rifle ammunition. Today I was shooting with my 1969 Marlin Golden 39A Mountie. I have a scope on the rifle and have it sighted with Remington 22 Thunderbolt 22 long rifle. I also shoot the Marlin with Aguila Super Extra 22 long rifle. I have not noticed a significant change in point of impact between the Aguila and the Remington ammunition. When I tried the Norma loads the point of impact went 1" right and 3" low at 25 yards. I was kind of startled. This is the most change I have ever noticed with 22 long rifle ammunition. I have seen large changes with 22 short ammo. Anybody see this kind of change with ammunition? By the way I have never found my Marlin 39A to be particularly accurate. My grandson has a Savage 64 that really shoots. It puts my Marlin and my Winchester Wildcat to shame.

TAC is great cheap ammo, but not match quality. I find it is great for 40-60 meter silhouette practice. I get a flier once in a while, but after the range session I can afford to stop at Arbys.
A Marlin 39 and TAC is a good day.
Tac-22 may not be top grade competition ammunition, but with my Miroku built 1885 Lo-Wall I can shoot bug-holes at 50 yards. Makes me smile with every shot. Does well in my '90s built 77/22 too~!!

Norma TAC-22 is the best low cost rimfire ammo out there. It shoots right up there with SK Plus in My Anschutz and CZ 455 rifles. Consistent 3/8-.5 groups at 50 yards. It costs half of what SK Plus costs (when you can find SK that is).

seagate I tried and the site would not allow me to purchase said my email confirm didn't match. Wife even checked and said it was the same. What is up with people these days? The ammo is good and a good buy.

Not to be contrary, but where I buy my ammo they let me lot test first whenever possible and I have 2 cases of SK Standard+ that shoot better in my rifles than any Norma I've ever tried. Of course I have never had the opportunity to lot test the Norma first, so there probably is a lot out there somewhere that is equally fine. My point is, as always it's all mainly the lot and not the name on the box within any broad class of ammo.

By the way, neither of them is truly match grade competitive ammo.

The title states: Rimfire target ammo.
The OP never said Match ammo or target ammo in his opening post. We all know it's not Match ammo. But I will argue you can and will shoot it at a target. I use it to warm my barrel before shooting for score with Lapua Center X. I shot a good lot of SK Standard Plus at a ARA factory Match in 34* weather, boy did it let me down. Later that week I shot another ARA factory Match using my Lapua Center X in similar temperatures and my scores were definitely better because of ammo consistency. I'm not a solid competitor as much as I am a fun to shoot and enjoy myself competitor. One Match I may shoot Tac22 or Eley Contact or Lapua Midas+. It all depends on my mood.

I've bought from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore quite a few times. They are the sister company to Vance Outdoors, both are easy to deal with and they will answer the phone.

Save the cx for comp shoot the tac for practice plenty good for that and sometimes shoots great groups. Sometimes... You can see the flyer for what it is mostly but that wont help you in a match..
