I have been shooting smallbore prone for 5 years and am crazy about these rifles. I have had 3 Anschutz and am pretty much settled with a 2013 now and enjoy the uncomplicated bbl change which allows easy experimentation with chambers and tuning. However I think I am more in love with this Rem37 I built this last year from an action I acquired from a local ex-smallbore shooter. Never having fit a bbl to this action I grabbed a cheap Green Mountain blank I had for a schuetzen project and put it on as a test and learning experience. Bedded it into a Canadian stock I got in trade and WOW.....I must have fit 5 or 6 bbls to my Annie 2013 and never had this kind of luck. Check out the 100y target I shot prone with the 30X STS and Wolf MT,my first inside 10X). Wish I had bought a dozen of those $85 barrels.

cheers,
-lige

Lige,

We had a similar experience with a Green Mtn barrel purchased for our 17 Mach 2 test gun. As it was inexpensive, we used it for our cut-down velocity test--chopping it down from 26" to 16" while chrono'ing the changes. The barrel shot as well or better than some much more expensive tubes offered by big-name barrel makers. Maybe we just got lucky, but our $85.00 Green Mtn performed great.
