Rimfire- Accuracy

The best way to sort ammo is with your wallet....
Great answer, but I would add buying a box of a number of brands that "fit your wallet". Shoot them, and compare the results.
I bought 26 different grades from different manufacturers and tested them with three 5 shot groups of each. Shooting with a low cost rife and best group was .311 group at 50 yards. I was surprised at the widely the spread of differences turned out to be and was quite happy with the cost of the two that I found "best" in my rifle. I might get better results if I were to buy brands that cost 4 and 5 times as much, but to me it just ain't worth it~!

I weighed 22 ammo for a couple of months
I decided it was Bull when I used the outliers ( the lowest and highest weights mixed together) and shot just as good a score
You just wind up with greasy fingers
It IS a good thing to suggest to your competitors it will keep their minds focused on something and help you beat them

“ Disqualify” somebody for not “ shouldering” a rifle?
I have shot, been a match director, and a ref at RF and CF matches for decades.
In all that time, never have I heard anything as remotely uninformed, no doubt my new buddy has never been anywhere near a BR match.
And yes, I realize lots of folks post, apparently some……heavily medicated..
Must be head of the local “ HEY you kids get off of my lawn” association
Right you are~!! Never been to a competitive match. The only competition I've ever been involved with is competing with myself constantly looking for better ammo and shooting techniques. I shoot from front bags with the rifle stock held at my shoulder.

Well, not to belabor the point, why then would you opt to “ disqualify “ anybody?
A teaching moment….. as it applies to the BR world, most guns are purpose built, shot off rests and usually sport a 1-2 oz. trigger. They are rarely, if ever held/ shouldered and mostly shot “free recoil”.
That said…have fun with what you do but, maybe, avoid the disqualification stuff.

Can you beat yourself ?

WOW~! My plain vanilla Ruger 77/22 (wood stock and blued metal built in 1986) shoots .311 with TAC-22 at 50 yards

I've seen a couple "sad" responses to my remarks. The one missing ingredient to their competitive shooting is a trigger release mechanism like the remote shutter release that camera uses. This way the shooter could be totally removed from consideration.
Just my interpretation mind you~!!

My wallet showed me that Lapua will give better scores than. lapua
SK any anything. Never had much luck with Eley.
I shoot a few good old boy matches, nothing serious often times I don't even know who shot the best score. Trying to find getter ammo by the purchase of 6 or more boxes to sort has been and exercise in futility as the best lot of anything has already been sold out.

If spellcheck is a A I product ? This computer world of A I will be a pain .

AI is going to create all kinds of misinformation and other problems when you consider that all of its information is gathered from all kinds of sources. If that information isn't filtered and based on scientifically provable data it will be distorted and unreliable~!!

That’s because they’re illegal for any type of sanctioned shooting.
At some point, if you’re digging yourself a hole, when you can no longer see light of day….maybe it’s time to stop.

I'll stop when I don't see things that stimulate my thinking.

If you think removing as much variable input to the rifle as you take a shot in competitive shooting is unskilled shooting you should try shooting a score target.
You find out why some shoot with what you think is unskilled shooting

Recreational Accuracy and Competitive Accuracy are 2 different things.
All Shooters pretty much know this. I will just leave it at that.
This is somewhat true in most cases. but it also depends on the shooter. I shot my first match in 2017 but prior to that I already jumped into the rabbit hole.
I bought my first custom rifle in 2013 before then I had a few Anschutz 54's and still have one. I always been what I consider a tinkerer I wanted to see what I could do to improve accuracy. was I a recreational shooter before 2017 I would say yes.
my accuracy requirements/goal was always whatever was better than the best before and still is.
