To all of you CZ 457 Varmint (not MTR) owners, what accuracy are you getting at 50 yds with decent match ammo ? Will they compete in ARA Factory Class ? TIA.

I actually found a good batch of cci sv. It holds almost half moa. Cz 457 pro varmint in a MDT chassis. Have put a tuner on the factory barrel and it seems to shoot really well with this lot of cci but also with a lot of sk rifle match and one of eley match though I haven’t had the opportunity to test many other batches. A few groups of the eley held tighter than I could get with the cci, but again I haven’t had the opportunity to do full testing. And the cci is so cheap to plink with so I just keep using it

I bought the Grandson a CZ 457 At-One. Anything Eley shoots
really well but the Gold standard for this particular rifle is RWS-50.
Get the 10 ounce Timney drop in trigger for it.

For what it's worth......At the beginning, I had him start out with
Wolf Match Extra and had fliers. Did a rim thickness sort and calmed
that down quite a bit. A friend had him try the SK red box at a 100
yard match. The Wolf still shot better. We were out of RWS-50 at the
time.

They definitely will group well with good target ammo.
They are also capable of competing.
The trigger spring change or a complete new trigger is a MUST! I've learned this the hard way.
Also cleaning the barrel real well every so often is important to maintain accuracy.
Then you have bench manners and wind reading to top it all off.
I'm enjoying this journey and I only take it remotely serious.

I have the @One and consistently hold better then 1/2 moa at 50yds using SK Red and Yellow box ammo. I have tried a couple lots of Eley match and tenex and for whatever reason it just does not like the lots of Eley I have tried. I’ve shot many 200’s in BR sporter class with it though I’m still looking for one that shoots better groups.
I have done a spring change on the stock trigger and am currently at 13oz on the @1 and 9oz on my MTR.
Like @Dgd6mm mentioned I agree totally with his comment on cleaning the barrel is a must. If I’m shooting for scores/groups both my guns open up in the 75-100 shots so I’ll run a patch down the barrel with cleaner and then a dry patch afterwards and I’m good to go for another round of shooting.
I always clean my guns after I shoot it, Period.

My rifle came with the factory target and produced a 5 shot group of 19mm, which is about a .75 inch group. I think that is about .53 MOA. I changed out the barrel to a 20 inch Lilja, and replaced the trigger with a Timney. Shoots better than .53.
