rifle stock recomendation

Hey guys, I'm wanting to eventually change the stock on my remington 700 SA BDL. I'm looking for something like or simular to either the fajen ace or boyds thumbhole varminter. I really don't want a stock with large palm swells cuz this rifle is a bench/varmint gun and I plan on carrying it around. I've also considerd a houge, but want more of custom look. A stock from accurate innovations would be nice. I am on a budget tho and don't want to spend more than $200. Links to places were I can look and buy these stocks would be greatly appreciated.

It may not be made of wood but a Bell & Carlson stock with a full length bedding block should prove satisfactory and if I remember correctly they are priced around $200 from Lock & Stock.

Yeah, i wuz kinda thinking that might be what i have to do. Either b&c, H-S, or a houge. That would definatly be the easiest thing to do and the alluminum bedding block should be really sturdy. The only thing is i have high rings and looking at pics they don't seem to have a cheekpiece. also i have a houge on a 10/22 and really like it. I dont really see much difference between the h-s stock and the b&c stock.

Outta these three which do you guys think would be the better one?

H&S makes a thumbhole stock for your 700,if you want a laminate there are quite afew new take-offs available, factory Rem.) out there also. You could also look at Hollands or Bill Shehanes,D&B Supply)

HS stocks are good quality stocks. I put an HS thumb hole stock on my Remington 700 SA chambered for .270 WSM. If you get an HS stock I would recommend bedding the action because it is hard fore the manufacturer to provide the customer with a perfect product in a mass production situation.

Thanks alot guys. I've about decided on a B&C medalist stock. This way i can go hunting and no worries about dings. Just wish i hadn't spent all that time in refinishing and inletting the factory wood stock. At least it will look good sitting in my closet.
