So sorry to get back to this so late. Waaaay too busy. Thanks to all for the advice and help. I just got to the range TODAY with my 14" .223 Contender wearing a Tru-Glo 8x36-44 riflescope and got it on paper and practiced a bit on the type hold I'll neded to use a of course try to be consistant as it was apparent that POI is really affected by the hold. it was dialed to 24x and wow!!, I could see a bunch better than my old 2 1/2-7 pistol scope. This was very fun and didn't get poked in the head like I was expecting.
Now the bad news....I used WSR primers today and the craters were QUITE large and the loads were 1.2 grains under max !! I used H335 and 50gr Sierras. So I've got some detective work to do here but the scope trial was cool....wish I had tries it years ago. Thanks to all.
