You need to have iron sights as well to be in the overall agg.
I shoot a 243 as my any rifle, lots of other options out there.

Building from scratch with one gun to do it all I'd go with a UMRS from Gary in .223 with a 7-twist barrel and a B&A trigger. That will get you Palma class and Any/Any in one gun.

If you don't care about being able to shoot Palma I'd go with a UMRS in something 6mm: .243, 6 CM, 6 GT, 6 BRX, 6 Dasher, etc.

If money was no object I'd source a G&E FT300 in a caliber I liked.
