...or perhaps read the thread first ;)

I don't think it's been mentioned. What are your cleaning intervals? Could you possibly be cleaning too often?

So cleaned the barrel for a couple days, used everything in the box, TM, patchout, wipeout, boreshine, 40x, sweets, overnight ballistol soaks, etc..

Me the man with the borescope this morning, I looked at it as well as him, spent about 30min checking the whole thing from chamber to crown, unfortunately was clean as could be and everything looked good. Had him double check all my floating, bedding, scope rings and rail, made sure the mag box wasn't binding, just got a second eye to go over it, unfortunately again, all looked good.

Shot 2 foulers that printed 1" apart and knew it was gonna be a good day but I let it cool of and thought maybe it was the clean bore thing.
Tried the original load that shot well, 3 shots slightly over an inch.
Shot another load that had shot decent early on and was close to the first of the day, in the high .2s, got kinda happy, thinking it may like 4-5 foulers.
Let it cool and shot that same load again and was presented with a 1.5" group with non of them printing near where the previous 2s group did.

Let it cool again and shot one other load that shot well in the beginning, .8 to .9, awesome....
I had it in both hands ready to give it the old John Henry spike driver but ended up leaving it at the range with someone.

So yeah, a rifle doctor, I need one....or a cutting torch.

I noticed you said you changed bullets with one of the other rifles. Have you tried other bullets in the 6x47? Whats the twist rate on the barrel? I had a finnicky rifle that just wouldn't come in on accuracy and ended up having to go to a flat base bullet because no matter how hard I tried, it just wouldn't shoot a boat tail. Threw in a flat base and whammo! there it was. The flat base didn't give me the BC that I wanted, but at least the accuracy had finally come around. Don't know what else to tell you. Sure hope you figure it out. Good luck

This may sound stupid, wont be he first time. A two part question, have you used a caliper to check COAL with your test loads right there at the bench? Are the good loads the same, with the same crimp? FWIW, Tom

The lenght of the early nodes were measured with a comparator and noted, heh, I even set aside the 3 pieces of brass from the backup group early on, those loaded yesterday were junk.

I've thought about tossing some flat based bullets in there but will probably send the barrel to the bottom of the river before that. Early on the Amaxs were stupid happy, printing in the 2s with little regard to what was put behind them, and the Bergers printing better.

I developed a bore guide that fits the muzzle crown end - seemed incomplete to protect only the chamber end. Anyway I am trying to get some feedback from avid marksmen. There are some videos that are helpful on the site too. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.

Sounds like you have did about everything! I realize you are an experienced shooter but, have you had another person that is a "good shooter" give it a go with your rifle. It is possible that you have developed an eye problem, developed a twitch or whatever. ;)

i just read the thread and didn't notice anyone mention this but if they did i apologize.

I would completely remove you scope from you rings, your rings from your bases, and you bases from your rifle.

put everything back together making sure they are nice and snug but not too tight...sounds to me like your scope might be walking on you

Again - if this is a repeat - my bad

GREGG>>>Checked scope see REPLY #66.

Too much cleaning?? I cleaned a 6BR a couple times rigorously with Kroil and such, and my barrel did not like that and it took about 40 rounds to get it to shoot tight again. But it wasn't as bad as 1.5" at 100yds. I'd look at the guns for you if I didn't just get shoulder surgery.

I'm with BigBlue. If this is something with 3 rifles, what is outside of those rifles that could impact your performance? The scale was the first thing I thought of...my electronic scale has been know to do some odd things, and it's a good one...
