Remington 700 Police in 308 - How accurate are these rifle out of the box ?

We use the Remington 700 in 308 loaded with Federal Match 168 SMK. The rifles are topped with a Leupold Mark IV 6.5 X 20.. We train out tp 800 meters just in case. Most urban shots are within the 200-300 meter range. Every once in a while we get a rifle that won't shot 1/2 MOA at 200 meters and it goes back. For the most part they are just what the doctor ordered for the job. They are just as accurate dirty as they are clean (250 rounds or so). For the money with great optics and match SMK's they are hard to beat.

And, yes they all have deep throats.

i think you need to measure your range.i pulled up aerial view and using cfr&p 300 m range and 100m range as a yard stick (meter stick?) your 800 m range seems to be 450 to 500 meters ,800m would put your targets on wewahootie road . BW Davis

Go south east BW into the woods. Not an easy typical easy open range shot. Find the target hidden in the scrub from the tower. Anyone can find a target right in front of them at a rifle range. In 23 years I've never seen a bad guy standing like a target at the range, they use cover and concealment.
