Remington 600 Trigger

What is the best Remington 600 Trigger on the market. (Jewell)?
I also read alot about use other model triggers like 40x,700,100 and model seven.
Whitch model is best to use for the Remington 600 if I go with Jewell.

Unless you use a different trigger guard, the Jewell will never work even if they did make one..
They do not make a specific trigger for the 600 Remington..
Without a bit of drastic reworking none of the mentioned triggers will work on a model 600 either...

Kind of wondering what you are trying to achieve. Many of the original triggers did not allow the safety to be on while opening the bolt. Remington changed many out and, ironically is now changing one out for me over 40 years after I bought the gun. No charge and the new trigger is supposedly adjustable.

Now if you would want a trigger that adjusts say much below 2 lbs ... I don't know.

So whats the best route to go?

I cut the trigger off of a 700 and repositioned it forward so it would clear the trigger guard in my almost completed 600 Mohawk..
I have that trigger breaking very nice at 2 1/2 pounds....
One of the older Jewells without the adjustment screw in the trigger could probably be done the same way, but I didnt want to pull one off a rifle to find out.

If I remember correctly the rear tang screw hits the 700style trigger housing. You need a 600 style trigger.

I will have my hands on just about mint Remington 600 in 6mm Remington. Rifle seams to be only shot approx: 20 times. I should have the rifle in about a week.
I had one over 20 years ago and had trigger problems with it. Now with this one coming,I was wanting a after market trigger.

Timney Triggers. I take it that these trigger are ok. I have always been a Jewell guy.

The rear tang screw on my Mohawk 600 seems to clear the rear of the trigger housing without a problem on the 700 Remington trigger I reworked..

Preacher,
That is different than any of the 700 triggers that I have. It looks as if you are showing a 6oo trigger. Mine all have the housing going further to the rear and your trigger shoe has been moved forward.
Butch

Preacher thanks for the Pictures.
I was thinking I had a remington 700 trigger here at home but can't find one to look at, to see if it looks like yours.

Butch, No sir, it is definitely a 700 trigger that I cut and moved the trigger forward on so it would clear the new trigger guard housing. It is a older trigger that I used...and the first photo shows it setting on top of another 700 trigger that has not had the trigger cut and moved...

Here's a Jewell in the same 600 but the trigger is to far back to clear the trigger guard, but the rear action screw still clears..

A newer 700 SS trigger still clears the rear action screw, but the trigger is still to far back...

A different 700 SS trigger, but it has the same problem with the trigger to far back, but the rear action screw still clears.

Preacher,
Good pictures. Can you take one of the 600 trigger so I can see where you reattached the trigger shoe.
PLEASE :)
What did you use to attach the trigger to the trigger (stud)?

How do you have room for a pillar on the tang when you are bedding? I didn't have room for one on mine with the 700 trigger.
Butch

The rear pillar had to be halfway notched out a lot for clearance Butch.
Here's the trigger before I silver soldered it together, the trigger sets up against the rod that is drilled into the base of the trigger, not as low as seen in the photo...
