so just suddenly doing gun projects i have been meaning to do for like years.

i have my old remington 308 pss,, back when they made a good rifle (imo) but the 308 is getting a bit shot out. i wanted to put in a 6.5 remage barrel just cause i have a ton of 6.5 reloading stuff. was kind of looking around. don't want to break the bank,, would love to pick up something second hand but probably not likely. any reviews on the mcree kits out of MS? any other recommendations? i just bought a krg chassis so was going to use that.

What whatsupdoc said. I have 2 - 6 XC’s and 1 - 6mm BR In Remage form from NSS Criterion Barrels. They all shoot a lot better than I do. Wish they offered more chambering though. Going to try Urban RifleMan’s barrel’s next.

Try contacting him. When I ordered mine there was a note on the page about needing other calibers to contact him. Worth a shot. If not I've also used XCaliber for a 7mag. Good barrel.

Talk to Bryce at Preffered Barrel Blanks, about a pre=fit barrel. Very nice barrel, decent price and they shoot and clean very well.

McGowen makes excellent barrels. I don’t know if it was a fluke but my last 6x47L from NSS only got 1500 rounds while the previous McGowen got 2500 so i have just ordered a McGowen. Basically the same price.

Call James at Northland Shooters Supply. My wife's 6.5 CM has one of his Criterion barrels in 26" length that loves Hornady 140 ELD-M. Recently ordered another in 30" length. Great service and product!
