rem action

That's like saying Lapua or Norma make inferior brass for other companies. Major tire manufacturers make tires for many other brands by simply changing the name on the tire. The rubber and tread pattern remain the same. How many action manufacturers does PT&G make bolts for? Do you think they make inferior bolts for certain less expensive brands?

Ireload2 and milo2 may disagree with that statement. There is no way they sell inferior name brand items from Walmart than any other store. Now your saying a named brand company makes cheaper items for Walmart to sell !!!
I would not disagree with what he said concerning items other than guns. No gun mfr is going to sell an inferior quality product, it could spell the end for them. Buying mass quantities of sps models at a decent price and selling them cheaper than some can buy them in no way constitutes an inferior product being sold. Remington, and others cut costs by what is actually done to levels of guns, polishing, blueing, fit and finish etc... Not by steel quality.

As long as there name isn't connected to it, why not. Rather than pitching them in the round barrel, send them to a company that sells there products cheaper. I mean lets face it, if there not so far off that they are unshootable, what the hell. Many people dont care about moa axcuracy. Many are just happy with hitting a 3" spot at 75-100 yards. Based on some people's comments, savage makes junk actions but yet do not have a problem putting savage on them. I've had a couple Remington actions that were not trued or very accurate but had REM 700 etched on the side. Why would Kenwood or RCA allow Walmart to sell junk with there name on it any more than Remington would ? I know this is off topic and I threw it out there just because I had a gunsmith make a statement regarding a couple Wally world 700s having actions that were WAY off. I was curious about opinions on the subject. Not sure I'm any closer to having a definitive answer or even if there is one.

I guess i should solidify my position on the whole Walmart deal. As far as guns....I absolutly DO NOT believe that the guns are any different than you can buy anywhere else. The ONLY thing I could think of (other than price), and this is just me playing the devils advocate, is that Rem loostens some of their quality control NOT regarding safety when it comes to Walmart. But, I know for a fact that they had electronics made for them, slightly changed the model #, and the products were not up to par with the MFGR's cataloged items. The one thing I could never figure out...from a sales point of view, is why Walmart never sold the higher end guns like the Senderos and the 40x type guns.

The store does here . They just don't stock them. The next time you go ask to see their gun book . Larry

It wouldn't supprise me if some are factory seconds. I bought an 870 from them when I was in high school. That thing has something wrong with it. I had several guys shoot it and no one could shoot it well. Including my father who was Master class rated sporting clay shooter.
