Rem action accuracy

Just throwing this out there, we all got whipped by a 700 at hawks ridge 1000 this weekend. I don't have a preference cause I shoot both, but I couldn't help but think of this post and chuckle when I asked him what he was shooting.

You need to look at, and handle, more custom actions!
I have owned NINE CUSTOM actions.. two Borden Rimrock BR's were the best. Everyone has their preference I stated in a earlier post that I think shooting competition there is a advantage with a good custom..But you can not doubt a trued 700 or blueprinted 700 can not shoot as well. I never owned a BAT action..I was going to buy one and someone suggested I send it to a gunsmith and have him work his magic on it..So I just went with a Borden Action.
I have a stiller Tac 30 right now and it's a little nicer than a good trued 700 but it does not shoot any better than my trued 700...It all about the barrel and bullet's ..One day one shoots beter than the other but I am not shooting them in competition.

I was wondering if you guys were going to get to barrels and bullets! I seen a falling block in a dasher that shoots pretty damned nice.
Don't know who has it now, but it was nice.

9 pages and nothing was solved to make everyone happy.
O I'm happy, my rem shoots well enough to win modified, I just don't shoot good enough yet. I will get a custom in the future when my skills improve, that Borden drop port caught my eye;) thanks for all the replys. Some gave me stuff to think about and some just made me laugh!

It has been entertaining. Troy has a great gun and wants to be shooting in the modified class. That is the idea behind his original post. He is in the class he wants to be in and does well there.

I seen a 1950"s benchrest rifle built on a 98 mauser action..with a straight 1.250 barrel chambered in the original 6BR with the 1.520 oal (.262NK) .wood stock.. It was amazingly smooth and had a very light trigger my guess around 8oz or so..it shot some .100's 5 shot groups at 100 yards shooting old rem BR universal brass.. I know hard to believe..I think the fellow still has it because it was his dads rifle..I don't think he would part with it..I have to give him a call. But a very interesting piece for sure

Guy on one of the facebook reloading forums has a savage axis that shoots pill bottles at 600 yards. All day long. So we all wasted our money
