Rem 700P 308

I have an SPS Varmiter, 26” bbl, 1:12 twist in an XB40 stock. I load 46.4gr Varget; Federal GM brass, cases prepped and neck turned to take off the excess brass; WLR primer; Sierra MK 155 Palma bullets (2156) and COAL of 2.925”. The muzzle velocity is an average of 2820fps (5fps SD). Will shoot .5” at 100yds all day long. Holds 1MOA to 900yds. Muzzle velocity drops off to the speed of sound at 1000yds. Bullets then spread out to 3MOA.

I have a 31” medium Palma couture blank I'm putting on the rifle. I should get near 3000fps from this barrel. My 1000yrd shoots should tighten right up.

Winchester brass winchester primer
42.5grs IMR4064 SMK 168 mag length 2.800 oal

Mine has a huge jump to the lands. Seems like it's about to fall out of the case before it touches the lands in mine. It really shoots 41-42.5 grs of VVN140 like you wouldn't believe! All at 2.800 oal same brass and primer. That's the powder I would use if I really wanted "THE" best load for my .308P a bit to pricey though for throwing lead and practice. Varget smarget... sorry, just had to say that. RL-15 & IMR4895 work great too I think about a half dozen powders in this burn rate window will yield near identical results.

my 12 twist remmy loves Berger 190's!!!!! .012 in the lands.

Mine loves the above with 43.5 grns of Varget! WARNING: THIS LOAD MAY BE HOT FOR YOUR GUN!

I have tried everything, second best is 175grn Bergers!

155.5, my gun just doesn't like them! Same with 168's
