308 factory loads yeilding presure signs

The gun is about a 2002 rem 700 308 heavy 26" with factory B&C stock. Bought the gun used. Cleaned the bore yesterday with sweets and mpro7 followed by rem oil. Ammo is old blue and white box federal GMM w/168gr sierras. Not sure ammo age but not seen that color box in a while. First two shots left me with a sticky bolt i had to knock open with palm of my hand and clear as day ejector marks . Ammo.set in sun maybe 15min as well as rifle. Any thoughts? Bought ammo at localgun store that does alot of trading also so maybe ammo handloads? Not counting fouler shot last threee was an inch or under so thats good i guess. Bolt was not as tight on last 2 shots.

Look at your bolt face, see if there's excessive oil on it, and excessive i mean any at all.
Oil in the chamber you give you false information. If the bolt became easier, its because the case expansion finally pushed the oil out of the chamber. Along with the ammo in the sun....

Good thinkin on oil. I didnt use my oring seal bore guide since it only fits up to .270 cal. Could have missed oil when i swabed chamber.

I agree with the oil as a likely problem,

secondly, old ammo WHICH MAY BE RELOADS sitting in the sun and chamber is very ???? able.

look at the unfired cases and see if there re any marks from dies in a reloading process, also look at the rim to see if there are any marks on the unfired rounds where an extractor left a mark on the case prior to reloading.

OP said "rem oil" as his last treatment. Bad idea...

Rem oil has Teflon in it. Chamber is made to work by allowing the case to expand and the sides of the case is suppose to grip the chamber. This way the thrust from firing the case is supported by this grip and partially by the bolt head. If you Teflon lubricate the chamber wall, the case can have difficulties gripping the wall and so ALL the thrust is on the case head which can cause an old gun to blow up but in a newer stronger gun give you pressure signs like extract mark. So it is not excessive chamber pressure but excessive bolt thrust.

I would clean your chamber out real good and try to get ride of that Teflon...

Get some brakleen by crc and flush out the chamber carefully barrel down and allow it to dry out or use compressed air to help it dry faster. Then start over. If you get sticky bolt or marks the ammo is highly suspect. At that point I would take back the stuff you bought and tell the gunshop how dangerous and unethical it is to sell reloads.
