Rem 700 243 barrel change to 308?

Couple of questions:-

1. Can I change the barrel on my Remington 700 0.243 for a 0.308 barrel? (Pretty sure the answer is yes.)
2. will an Accuracy International barrel fit the rem 700 action? (got the chance of a cheap barrel,only 50 rounds through it)

1. yes- same parent case and boltface
2. no- completely different action

While you will be able to screw the 700 308 barrel into the old 243 700 action, but it may not headspace safely.
That needs to be checked before firing with gauges !!!!!!!!
