Rem 541-t

I have seen a 541-T for sale for $800.00. is this in a reasonable price range? Thanks in advance
Depends on what you mean by reasonable~! I bought a pristine 513-T MATCHMASTER for under $300 within the past year. The bore looks like it has never had a round fired. It was made in April 1940 for the military and is stamped US PROPERTY on the barrel and the receiver. I just stumbled on it in the aisle at a local gun show~!
Just keep looking friend. There are still some people out there who aren't looking to get rich when they get ready to sell one of their rifles, but there are those who are always looking to make $300 to $500 PROFIT when thy sell. I sold a Hi Standard Citation pistol in the original box with factory papers to a guy with a table for $700, and saw it on his table t the next show where he had it priced at $1100~!!!! And believe it or not he turns quite a few guns.

I would gladly and quickly pay that for the first 541-T I owned! It was an unbelievable tack driver. Had a target taped on the wall that was a five-shot .113" at 50 yards.
the last 541-T I owned was good but not quite what the first was.

I do an advanced search on Gun Broker to see what actually sold and what condition it was in. Condition is absolutely the difference between one that sells for say $500 and another for $900. Original box and papers also add a lot of value to collectors.

If it is in very good condition, you will always be able to recover your $ at that price. That is right around the starting price for those rifles nowadays. I have seen several sell up around $1,200 recently.

I visited the site and typed in winchester 52C. It came back with $526 trade in and $809 value. Bull you know what.

800 dollars for a excellent condition 541 in any variation T THB or S is right on. They usually are higher and will sell.. I keep up on what they are bringing because I have a few of them including a maple 541T .

Its difficult to put a price on anything you see on the internet~! Unless you can pick something up and look at it carefully. The "Books" says~?? LOL~! What book did you report to the last time you sold a firearm~? How many of a particular make and model has the "book sold"~? When you see a firearm for sale on-line it's hard to tell if it sells and what the final price was if it does get sold. Remember, you can ask any price that suits you fancy. Whether or not you get your price is another matter~!
At the last show I saw a very clean OM/3-screw Ruger Single-Six on one table where the seller was asking $350. Several rows later saw another almost identical twin offered for $625~! So what's an OM Single-Six worth~?? Should we ask "the Book"~?
So if you like a particular firearm, and it looks to be in the condition that's acceptable to you, and you've got the money in your pocket, BUY IT~!!

In real estate there are three words for price which are "location, location, location". For firearms the three words are "condition, condition, condition"~!

Which model? Just sold my collection...541-T blue sporter, 541-T HB blue, 541-S, 541-T sporter maple stock, and the 541-T sporter HB maple stock. The maple stocks were 1 of 500 special order from Bill Hicks wholesale. All were in mint condition with Leupold/Redfield ring base combo. Average for all were $650 plus.

Tulee,I would have bought every one of em. Mines been used hard and put up wet, and 800 wouldn't buy it! Mines a heavy barrel that shoots in the ones and twos at 50 after done tuning and a trigger job. Traded my first one(which shot just as good) for a position rifle for my son to shoot in 4h comp. Never got over losing it and had to replace it

Always check the book value before buying. Then factor in that the book is listing Vegas prices and value may well be somewhat different depending upon where in the country you are. Value however should not be drastically different. At $625 for a single six, I'm betting he keeps that one for a while. Never paid more than $400 OTD for any of mine and that includes those with original box and papers.
