IMO, if you are looking for a retro'ish .22 RF that can accept a scope on the receiver look for a good 40X or 40XB, or a Anschutz 54I have seen a 541-T for sale for $800.00. is this in a reasonable price range? Thanks in advance
Depends on what you mean by reasonable~! I bought a pristine 513-T MATCHMASTER for under $300 within the past year. The bore looks like it has never had a round fired. It was made in April 1940 for the military and is stamped US PROPERTY on the barrel and the receiver. I just stumbled on it in the aisle at a local gun show~!I have seen a 541-T for sale for $800.00. is this in a reasonable price range? Thanks in advance
I would gladly and quickly pay that for the first 541-T I owned! It was an unbelievable tack driver. Had a target taped on the wall that was a five-shot .113" at 50 yards.I have seen a 541-T for sale for $800.00. is this in a reasonable price range? Thanks in advance
In real estate there are three words for price which are "location, location, location". For firearms the three words are "condition, condition, condition"~!I have seen a 541-T for sale for $800.00. is this in a reasonable price range? Thanks in advance
I thought they were made for Lew HortonThe maple stocks were 1 of 500 special order from Bill Hicks wholesale
Always check the book value before buying. Then factor in that the book is listing Vegas prices and value may well be somewhat different depending upon where in the country you are. Value however should not be drastically different. At $625 for a single six, I'm betting he keeps that one for a while. Never paid more than $400 OTD for any of mine and that includes those with original box and papers. Its difficult to put a price on anything you see on the internet~! Unless you can pick something up and look at it carefully. The "Books" says~?? LOL~! What book did you report to the last time you sold a firearm~? How many of a particular make and model has the "book sold"~? When you see a firearm for sale on-line it's hard to tell if it sells and what the final price was if it does get sold. Remember, you can ask any price that suits you fancy. Whether or not you get your price is another matter~!
At the last show I saw a very clean OM/3-screw Ruger Single-Six on one table where the seller was asking $350. Several rows later saw another almost identical twin offered for $625~! So what's an OM Single-Six worth~?? Should we ask "the Book"~?
So if you like a particular firearm, and it looks to be in the condition that's acceptable to you, and you've got the money in your pocket, BUY IT~!!
