Rem 40x 300 win mag has muzzle brake...
Anyone know if right handed or left handed threads. I have put some heat and muscle can't budge. Fixing to cut off

I guess somebody could have put a left hand thread on it but no clue why they would. May as well cut it off and recrown

Stuck Allen wrench through Port stuck in vice with lots of heat . Got it broke loose. Weird 9/16 thread with lots of red locktite.

How well does it extract and eject a loaded round?

Haven't gotten that far.. hopefully only extract first casing other than that pullnthe bolt

Have a 30-338 mag in a 40x mine won’t eject a loaded round I have to release the bolt to remove a loaded round No Biggie

I have a Remington 40x in 7mm rem mag I bought new in the late 1970s. I have read all 40x’s were short actions. I didn’t think 7mm rem mag would work in a short action. Am I correct or is this gun a long action.

The bolt is removed to get a live round out of the chamber. If i remember correctly?

Not an issue with my 243 40x single shot.

like a 30-06. single load, eject spent case, but to remove live round, remove bolt as above.
