Question,,on the remington 40x in caliber 300 win mag,,was this a long 40X action or short??? My boy is wanting to build a 300 ultra mag and we didn`t know if it would fit in a 40x action that was chambered for the 300 win mag..Thanks...

All 40-X's are short actions.

For the long cartridges, they are only single shot - 300WM empties eject fine, but unloading a loaded round, you need to release the bolt and draw it back a bit more to clear the port.

Thats what I thought,,that they were all short actions,,but just wasn`t for sure..Looks like we`ll be lookin into a long 700 action..Thanks..
