rem 270 to 300 rum

Can I convert my 270 Remington to a 300 ultra without a lot of trouble? I realize the bolt will not work but my main question is about the action. Is it long enough or does rem make a magnum action specifically for this. Thanks

If you single load (with Mods it will work) Not very practical (the mods would probably cost as much or more than the LA MAG action)but it would work. Get the LA Mag action and use it like it was meant to be.

It will work the action length is the same as a mag either find a mag bolt or have the face opened on your bolt the mag box will have to be changed also

Besides the boltface difference,if you want this to be a repeater the feed rails will have to be altered and also the feed ramp. The factory oal for the .300 RUM is 3.6". A longer mag box such as the Wyatt's cfe-9 will hold cartridges up to 4" in length. I had a .338 EDGE built on a Rem. 700 30-06 action and it works great. Gary
