reducing boltface on Rem 700 bolt

Hello all, what are the pros and cons of bushing down a magnum boltface to a .473 diameter? Yes, I could buy a new bolt at PTG,but in the interests of frugality I would like to know if it poses any problems accuracy wise or any safety concerns.Thanks, Jim
 
If it is done properly no danger . however you will have to install a new extractor . The simplest is sako style which will run anywhere from 90.00 to 115.00 installed .
