700LA bolt modification

Hello all, I have a model 700 in 7mag that I want to change over to 6.5 swede.Would it be too much trouble to modify the existing bolt for the .473 boltface,or is it even possible.I don't have a problem buying another bolt body, but if I don't have to i'd like to know. Thanks,Jim

In the long run you'll be better off keeping the mag bolt and buying a used .473, or buy a new one from Dave Kiff at PT&G.
You can sell the mag bolt to recoup some of your money if you never figure you'll need it...

For around $150-$200 any competent gun smith can install a bushing in your bolt face and then open it up to your desired cartridge and machine it for a Sako style extractor.

Thanks guys,I sort of figured that it wasn't cost effective to machine my old bolt,I guess i'm just old school as to recycling my old iron if it makes sense.Jim
