Recommended cleaning rods without brass parts?

I have IVEY rods but not sure if he makes them anymore. They are high polish SS. I use either an AL jag or a bore saver delrin jag. Unfortunately Don doesn't make them anymore.

SS rods are available. That is my choice along with a good rod guide system. I mostly have the ones made by Flying Fish Fundamentals.

I like Pro Shot or Bore Stix. I have an Ivy a friend gave be that is great but they are no longer available.

If you have contact info you might try. That is info that was told to me several different times. It is not first hand. I say this because yesterday on Benchrest Central an Ivy ad popped up.It might just be an old one never deleted .

Cool! I use Dewey rods now and wasn't aware they made an aluminum version.

Thanks guys!
Don't know that they do. Mine are coated SS (some kind of plastic coating, I think), with an aluminum ferrule.

I've also got a Montana Extreme rod, also coated SS, I don't remember what the ferrule is, but I don't remember ever having problems with it (might be that the rod end is bored and threaded. It's for a 30 cal bore, and I don't shoot that anymore.)

I bought my all-stainless rod many years ago, probably at Perry. No name on it. I wish I knew who made it. I always try to buy cleaning rods in person so that I can make sure I get a straight one.

I use Dewey(coated rods) but the end male/female are brass but I ordered their aluminum jags for the calibers that I shoot and so far I haven’t received much false readings like I did with Brass jags. Just a thought and cheaper too.

Me too, your choice, brass or aluminum ferrules (aluminum pictured below). ;)

No sir. The link I posted is for aluminum ended Dewey Rods. When I bought mine they came with aluminum ends and jags. No false positives with this system and cheaper than bore tech.

Related question.

How critical is it to have a matching rod for each caliber. IOW, I have a boretech 6.5 CM rod I use on a 30 cal PRC With appropriate patches.

Do I really need another rod?

I use all Dewey, rods, jags, brushes, patches. Of course I only live 15 minutes from them so I just drop in with my list a couple times a year.

I use my 6mm rods, they are 22 cal pro tech rods, with my 30. Just bought a 30 cal jag, drimmeled down the cuff at the threads. Works great.
