The B&L triplet is used in many industries and doesn’t break the bank. There is a need for a visor magnifier as well, but for quick checks that are easy to bring to eye level, this is it.

I use the flip up visor as well. It works really well.

For over 50 years, I used a fingerprint loop similar to the one pictured below. It is great for fine detail use. When I retired, it went home with me and I still use it today.

A Bosh & Lomb hand magnifier is also very handy to have on hand.

A magnifier of different sizes is great to have on hand similar to having bullets of different weights in the same caliber. They all have their place.
