RCBS Chargemaster ???????

Mine are in my shop in the basement. It never gets below 60 there and I have a small oil heater that runs when I load in winter. I've used them (two) and my A&D Fx-120 enough to feel like they want to "flutter" a bit when the temp has been down low for a few days if they aren't warmed up. I just leave them turned on all the time.

Actually RCBS does NOT recommend leaving it 'on all the time'. I posted this a couple of weeks ago as a response from RCBS. Just for your info, certainly I'm not telling you what to do.

The warrant runs out when theyrefugee to repair it. Not a good answer but a fact .

I've dealt with RCBS since 1963......I must be lucky....they are always in a good mood when I needed something.

Yeah during hunting season, spring gopher season, or when testing loads in new rifles, I leave my scales on 24 hrs a day. Been doing that for many years.

Based on the above, I have found that the warranty never seems to run out at RCBS. They have never said no to a free assist in getting their products back in business to me.

Look at the top right area on the display of my truck. -2 F. Getting cold here in Montana. Granted I turn the shop heater on when I'm loading ammo, but Chargemaster sits out there with no heat in these same temps unless I'm out there. No isues.

That is cold for sure. Can't see the fuel gauge, but assume it's about full? I lived in a mountain village in Idaho one winter, and we hit -42 one day. Not enough residents to list it as the coldest in the Nation though.

My warranty run out on my RCBS made by pact. RCBS tech tried to help me by Telling me how to reboot the scale.
PACT was no help as they have decided to quit repairing the scale they made for RCBS.

That is cold for sure. Can't see the fuel gauge, but assume it's about full? I lived in a mountain village in Idaho one winter, and we hit -42 one day. Not enough residents to list it as the coldest in the Nation though.

Coldest I've ever seen was in the oil field of eastern Montana during the winter of 2011-2012. one day it hit -72 F and then was in the -50's F for another few days before 'warming up' to -20 F. Couldn't even go outside that day of -72 F because the air would try to freeze your lungs and you could feel your eyes starting to freeze if you didn't keep blinking all the time. Pretty brutal

I hear you. That's was our problem when I lived in Big Piney, Wy. Cold son-of-a gun. Saw -40 many times, (actual, not wind chill).

I left Stanley Idaho in August, and it snowed on me going over the pass and out of the valley.

I hope you purchased it from Brownell's. They will take it back.

That being said, every manufacturer is going to cover their respective butts with disclaimers. Take a look at warranties from other makers of the same product. Without being snappy, if you are THAT uncomfortable, get a powder drop and a good balance beam scale. It will be more accurate since the ChargeMaster is supposed to be good for =/-.1 grain. You could easily be high by .1 grain and low by .1 grain. That is a big spread. It would probably take the same time with a decent powder drop, scale and a trickler.

BTW- I have a ChargeMaster, use it and it dispenses within MY tolerances for error.
