Raton2018 picture thread; Added 15 pictures that I missed. See my post on page 4

Turbulent Turtle

F-TR competitor
I arrived in Raton earlier today and I went to the range to get my rifle weighed. I took the opportunity to take some pictures and then I drove up to the pits to take some more pictures.

I have started an album at my Nikon Image Space account and I will try to load pictures there every day. I will post a note after every update. The pictures are all medium JPEGs. I have RAWs for all the pictures. If you see one or more that may interest you, you're welcome to download it from the site, if you require very high resolution, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I am not taking the time to do any post processing (PP) on these images, just collecting and posting.

This is the link to view the album Raton2018:

(Somebody asked about pictures from Connaught 2017 FCWC. The link to the public pictures is: http://img.gg/z639lCs )

Added about 32 pictures on Sunday. Long day; sun is pounding, winds were pretty nice.

Added 35 pictures on Monday. Read my post further down.

Added 129 pictures on Tuesday. Read my post further down.

Added 34 pictures on Wednesday. MR Team matches.

Added 100 some pictures of the awards ceremony.

I started a new album for the 2018 Long Range FCNC: http://img.gg/y7Fp9NM

I added 17 pictures from day 1 of Long Range. I elected to leave my Nikon camera (without Kodachrome film for the old geezers amongst us) in my Outback instead of taking it up to the pits. I'm glad I did.

Added 35 pictures on Friday. 2nd day LR individuals. Aka, ok everyone, back to school.

Added 110 pictures on Saturday. Long Range Team Matches.

Added 60 pictures on Sunday. Final day of competition and award ceremony.

We had a bear cross the road in front of us between the HP and the black powder ranges. I was too slow on the draw for pictures. Made me wonder about the tent campers....LOL

I shoot SRBR there. Many times we had to stop the match because of Deer, Antelope, Elk, and other critters walking on the range. A beautiful place ! Watch out for those 2:00 Thunderstorms. I was there last month, It rained like a cow pissin on a flat rock.

All while the sun was shining bright?

Only place I ever been where you can get 100% hosed - sometimes with hail - standing in bright sunshine.

Nice job on Pictures !!!

Three years ago the Hail got me a new truck..

The Question of the Day What is the Town up the road famous for ????

I added 32 pictures for Sunday. The camera gets heavier during the day and doesn't come out as much. I leave my smartphone in the car during the day because you are not allowed to have a communicating device, especially in the pits. So if I don't bring the Nikon, no pictures get taken in the pits.

I did not do any PP on these pictures, they are straight from the camera. I may clean up and enhance a few of them and will repost those in a different album.
If you see a picture that you think is inappropriate, please let me know. I try to never take pictures that would embarrass someone, but you never know.

Thanks for taking the time to shoot some photos and sharing. It is great to see photos where the Nationals are Shot and of the shooters and friends attending.
