About 10 days ago I made a post on this forum asking for advice on loading 6PPC for the first time. I settled on loading 27gr of H322 behing a Barts 68 gr FBHP, moly coated since I had about 100 of them on hand. I seated the base of the bullet to the base of the neck, which left me with a tight, smooth bolt close. I had concerns about this, but decided to go with it, since you have to start somewhere. I loaded up 15 rounds. I had to wait for a trigger to come in, since the old one was junk, I put a Shilen on it set at #1. I shot 4 shots at 25 to get where I wanted to get it, and first shot at 100 yds were 1.5" low and .5 left. I clicked it over, shot #2 was center but still low, I clicked it up 5 clicks and shot #3 was nearly dead center, in a 1" green dot with a cross hair on it. I shot 2 more shots practically in the same hole. Pulled the target and outside to outside was .283, minus .243 the bullet diameter, gave me a .040 group, best group I have ever shot in recent memory or forever for that matter. I have a Vortex viper 6.5x20x44 for a scope. I am a happy camper to be able to shoot a group like that, considering my right side is partially paralyzed, leg worse than arm. I believe I will shoots some 5 shot groups a little later in the week. Humidity was 90% and it was killing me, but it was dead still when I shot this afternoon. Pretty good for a rifle made in the early 90s, but not shot much. Just thought I would share.
