Today I finally got time to zero the 6XC with a Kreiger/CBI barrel, 7 twist, 26", varmint taper, 11 degree crown. No break in was done, just cleaned the barrel . I used 107 Sierras, and 115 gr DTACS, both bare, non coated. 5 shots total at 25 and 100 to zero dead on. The 107s put 5 rounds into .285, nice round group. The 115s shot a ragged hole, shooting 3 shot groups, it was getting too hot to shoot 5 shot groups. Two groups, same identical results, a ragged hole egged out on the left, bot were in the .110's or so. This was with 33 gr of Varget and the bullet jammed in the lands about 10 thousandths. Hard bolt close, but easy open, no pressure signs. The 107s a little hotter load. I am very pleased, and am sure it will only get better when it is broken in, if possible. I may coat some 115's with HBN and give them a try, after making sure the barrel is clean. I have had great results with it in other calibers. Just thought I would share.

Maybe post some pictures of that new great shooting rifle? if you can be sure to take some pics of the receiver. Cheers. Nice to get hold of a good shooter!

While Varget can work well, I think you will be better off with H4350. The ammo I have shot with Varget showed peak pressure at velocities way below a similar pressure H4350 load. I have had good luck with 36-38 grains of H4350 with every bullet I have tried. It is a very easy cartridge to load.

I may get someone to help me post pics, not very tech savvy. It is just a 110 with a trued receiver face, surface ground lug, steel bedded factory stock that had pillars in it. It has a homemade aluminum bag rider I made out of a scrap piece of auminum. This is the 7th 6xc I have built, the 2nd one for myself, the others for friends. The others were all Krieger or Shilen barrels, 1-8, 1-7 1/2 twist. The 8 twist shot everything from 70 gr to 105 well, the 7.5 did really well with 115s, all that was ever shot in it. I found a 500 round box of 95 gr fb Barts, moly coated I may try just for giggles and see how well it shoots them also. I don't shoot PRS as my right side is partially paralyzed from 3 strokes in one day a few years ago. I mostly just shoot for fun with some local buddies who help me get my gear and ammo out and to the bench. We are just starting to shoot steel plates on on of thems farm out to 1000 yds. Recenty we shot plates to 750yds with Vernier sights and lead slugs out of sharps, :Rolling blocks and hi walls.

That sounds super fun time with the Sharps

I painted the factory stock in a sand with tiny black fleck texture paint yesterday, then put a black spiderweb on that let dry overnight, the put 2 coats of matte clear over that, let dry early this morning and just put it all back together. put the adjustable cheek piece on it. If anyone would post pics on here, I can send them to your ph or email, as some of you wanted to see pics of the rifle.
