Range Day 45-70 Using Accurate 4064

First let me state there are no published loads for the 45/70 using Accurate 4064. Any use of Accurate 4064 is a personal risk and I am not responsible for any using my loads and use at your own risk. I tested the following loads which are published loads all except for Accurate 4064. IMR 4064 which have published loads is almost equal on the burn chart at Accurate 4064. That said here is the info I have measured with a chrono.

45/70 HC 350 gr H4895 (55.0 gr) average FPS 1871 Normally used and published loading data
45/70 FN 350 gr H4895 (55.0 gr) average FPS 1872 Normally used and published loading data
45/70 FTX 325 gr IMR4198 (51.0 gr) average FPS 2210 Normally used and published loading data
45/70 HC 350 gr LT 32 (38.4 gr) average FPS 1476 Normally used and published loading data
45/70 FN 350 gr ACC 4064 (54.0 gr) average FPS 2091 Hot (Not normally used no loading data)
45/70 FN 350 gr ACC 4064 (52.0 gr) average FPS 1983 (Not normally used no loading data)
45/70 HC 350 gr ACC 4064 (52.0 gr) average FPS 1984(Not normally used no loading data)
45/70 FN 350 gr IMR 4064 (58.0 gr) average FPS 1953 Normally used and published loading data

What size is your target? Henry’s factory sights or other? What was your thought on the AA 4064?

The center bull is 3 inches, and the overall target is 7.5 inches. At 100 yards the henry front site covers 100% of the target. To get around this I have skinner peeps and sight in at the 6 o'clock position of the target. AA 4064 is a good clean powder a bit more zipper than IMR 4064 and is a good substitute for the IMR.
