Range cart recommendations

The finest hand truck on the market, like another poster said add brackets to hold rifle. A friend gave me a used one of these for work, I throw it from the truck to the ground. If i can't tear one of these up, it can't be torn up. Mine doesn't have the inflatable tires and is lighter than this.

I have a Magliner cart that I got in the 1960’s.

Look at Rugged Gear. I shoot BPCR, carry a lot of heavy gear. They have large tires, roll very easily, fold, you are only pushing, not holding any weight, they don't tip easily on rough ground. At the Quigley match in MT, the shooting line is over a 1/4 mile, there is about every kind of cart known there. I've been through a few and nothing compares.

That Magliner hand truck could easily be modified. The wide flat base is a plus, taller or wider wheels in gravel. A real plastic dairy tote with some modification to hold long guns vertical and room for a rest, bags, ammo etc. in the bottom. Lots of possibilities. Zip ties can work magic. Not too heavy, it needs to be lifted in/out of your vehicle.

I have one of the folding two wheelers like in the pictures. A lot of the guys around here have gone to the folding 4 wheel wagons. I'm going to upgrade to one myself myself but I'll keep the two wheeler for the times I don't need to take out as much junk.

That’s got my rest and bag in a case, my flags in a case and flag poles in another case, rifle in another case,
It really needs pneumatic rubber tires for gravel parking lots though. View attachment 1766384
Yep!
I'm gonna go with the red one which is just a touch bigger with bigger wheels. I see more and more guys going this route. Plus they fold up to almost nothing. That's the problem with the two wheelers. Can't get enough junk in them.

I have tried a bunch. Last one was a Creedmore. For the rough surface and tall grass at Perry, I struggled with it. Went to the foldit cart to haul my stuff and found it way easier. That price is not excessive imo. You will spend more and enjoy it less trying to cobble together anything cheaper in a dedicated cart.

Does anyone know of any good wheeled carts similar to the peterson machine?

I really like this style and may get one, but its made out of stainless driving up the price to about $700!

Link for reference:
A used "jogging stroller" is what we use, with ATV gun mounts clamped to the sides. Easily carries 2 rifles. Barrels point within 3 feet of stroller. Don't know if that would work for you, but it has served us well for over 10 years in USPSA, IDPA, and now .22 benchrest. Collapses down easily to fit in compact cat trunk with lotsa room in the "seat" for various sundries.

What I did. I added thorn liners to the tires, took out the seat and added an old range bag, pockets on either side for my Tripod and seat, and a ATV yoke for the Rifle.

Search “ Fold It” lawn cart. Started in XC competition and still use it today. Big wheels for rough grounds and lots of space for ur stuff. Made of aluminum so it’s light weight and folds up to fit in ur trunk or truck.

The advantage of the Creedmoor or similar two-wheel carts, if they are small enough, is that as a competition shooter can put it on the line right next to you. So everything you need is right there with you. So you see a lot of them at the NRA/CMP rifle competitions. You can't bring a folding cart, stroller, etc., to the firing line but I have discovered that depends on the range and event. I think the selection also depends on how far (and over what type of terrain) you have to hump your gear. My cart is a Rube G. version of the Creedmoor conversion cart, flat-proof large tires, does not collapse easily, is heavy when loaded, but I like it.

Go to your local Golf Shop and buy a used one, cheap! You can remodel it to suit.

For XTC 99% of the people with carts have something like these:

I have this and would recommend it if you are buying new:

For less money add this to a stool

Other solid options from another great source:

Honestly, if money is not a huge issue, I’d stick the these which are somewhat standard… rather than trying to design something yourself. Differences between the CM and HT are how they hold rifles and how they fold…
