Your Dasher moves 2-3" ? what is the weight? does it have a brake? My 17lb Dasher with a brake doesn't move near that far..... jim

The top comes in at 53 pounds

It might.
It is a testing rail designed for bigger stuff......
It has removable “Hold-downs” on the sides to help with torque. They attach to the base and ride on the rail top to minimize upset in the system.
I will attach a photo when I finish my morning tea and stumble to the cave.

Obviously there is no action in the rail at the moment, but you can see how Jay Young designed the hold-downs to help with the bigger stuff.

Jim my 300 wsm is 85 LBs and it does move in the bags, it depends on how they slide. My buddy Eddie's rife weighs 125 lbs. and it also moves and he has won more wood than myself. If they track well they usually shoot well. My wife always said when the rifle tracked she won!

Ya Jim there are still a few of us nuts that have fun shooting those boat Anchors. But just like a LG. If there not tuned right they don't shoot.

Has anyone considered mercury recoil reducers installed in a Rail? They definetly work well in magnum hunting rifles, so I’m curious why not develope and design a use of them in a rail?

A brake will help recoil but not accuracy. Brakes do not have an effect until the bullets out of the barrel. There seems to be an interest in rails for HG IBS out here..... Personally I see no reason not to allow them in HG IBS.

I am working on it Alex.
I will post what I have in the next few days. Getting some good input from folks with a bunch more experiance than I have on topic this would be fantastic. I just know it is super fun to shoot a rail at distance. I have learned a bunch so far.

Attached is the "first attempt" at the agenda item for the addition of Unlimited Rifle to the mix in long-range competition.
Some input on the crafting of this agenda item would benefit all of us.

Just a quick update,
I have taken the agenda item to a couple of matches including the Rendezvous Match and have collected the required 25 signatures to send it to the Long Range Committee and likely bring it to a vote of the IBS members this fall.

Received the new BAT Machine B with both a MAG and 308 bolt last week.
This is going on the rail as soon as we get the timing as smooth as humanly possible.
