question on bushing die

Mike.
I guess you are going to use these in a Bolt Gun.

What make brass are you going to use
?
Now What I have been doing is use the Neck Die only UNTIL the rounds start getting hard to chamber. Then I use the body die. This way you have fire formed brass to your chamber. You are only setting the neck tension with out working the brass.
I have been able to get 3 firings out of the brass. I use the Stony Point Comparator to check the shoulder Head-space.

Edited..I should have asked if this is new brass or fired brass my Bad,,,Either way New brass you should only have to check length..I have had no problems with having to size virgin brass.

Ed.... yes in my tikka super varmint.... I like my round to go in easy so I will be reseizing the case each time and all this is done on my Dillon..... what I did is in the first sation put the body die and the bushing in the next and the third the Rcbs expander plug, I shoot mostly cast bullets ) but looking at this set up that is when the question arrised...about puting the body die in the second station and the bushing in the first.... big dilema.....

No disrespect to anyone. Why would you neck size a case that will not fit the particular rifle chamber it will be fired in? Neck sizing is based on the theory that a individual working with his press and die will produce a case that will perfectly fit a particular rifle chamber. Neck sizing is all about case and chamber measurements starting with UN-fired brass, fired brass and re sized brass. My personal point of view if your going to neck size start at step #1 not #6. If your going to neck size start with a copy of a , SA AMI ) cartridge and chamber drawing that will give you the dimensioning / tolerances of the .308 Winchester for both the case and the chamber. This way you have a baseline or foundation to base all your work off of. Reloading guides give dimensioning and tolerances for basic full length resizing. No disrespect intended to anyone with my point of view.
