Question for Lab Radar owners

Yes it does Larry. You have to get the blast off of the Lab.

Yes, you do. I chrono'd a friends 300 Ultra Mag and he blew my Labradar clear off the bench. Keeping that in mind, you need to build something blast resistant. I have seen folks use a large concrete building block to shield the unit from the blast.

For my 7 SAUM I clamp the LR to the bench just behind the blast from the brake.

Thanks for the replies guys, You have confirmed what I thought might happen. Looking to purchase Lab Radar soon. Any other pitfalls I need to know about?

It’s a simple fix with the brake—just move the unit behind the muzzle 6” or so. You can also adjust the sensitivity.

The biggest idiosyncrasy with the Lab Radar is learning how to use it. I’ll bet all of us missed a few readings because of that. That said, once you are past the newby indoctrination phase it is a VERY reliable and easy to use unit.

I sold my Oehler 35P after I learned how to use my Lab Radar.

I don’t use the bench mount with mine. I took the stanchion of the plate and put it on a 1/4” sheet of steel about 27” long and 4” wide. It gives a lot more flexibility in locating the unit on the bench.

I fully agree with INTJ. I started to learn my LabRadar with a muzzle break. I have since rebarrelled my 7mmRM without muzzle break. The trick is to get the L.R. Away from the muzzle blast
