My lab Radar will quit reading , I have it on left of bench about 6" from rifle and anywhere from a 8" to a foot behind muzzle? Will read great then take a notion to not read then go back to reading? Sometimes the accusation error will come up and sometimes not. Does direct sun effect it?

Put it 4 in. from muzzle and even or slightly ahead. This is what I was told to do when I called them from the range one day . Worked great since then. This is without a muzzle brake.

I called them and was told to keep it within 1" of the muzzle. That ended my problems.
