Is there a practical difference between a .025" jam and a .010" jam? If you have reasonably light neck tension don't they all end up at the same OAL anyway with the bolt closed?
One other question while we're at it. I have a Forster seater die with the micrometer in .243 Win. Does it seat off of the ogive or the bullet tip?
The reason I ask is that when I mic the OAL most of the time they vary two or three thousandths, with some as much as 5-6 thou short. BTW these are 105 AMAX.
I'm assuming that the seating is off of the ogive and if that's true, will the OAL make a major difference in bullet flight at longer yardage?
If the die seats off of the tip I have a bigger problem I suppose.
Sorry to turn this into a game of twenty questions. One thing leads to another.
Thanks!
