Question about Flush Cups.......

Phil

Gold $$ Contributor
I`m going be ordering a stock and want to add a couple of flush cups.

Being a right handed shooter, what side would you put the cups???

Stupid question, I know, but this is the first time for me using flush cups.

Thanks,

Phil.

WTH is a flush cup ?

Maybe these flush mount inserts with machine screw threads, with the swivel studs but without swivels?

The GrovTec flush cups are very well made, but I haven't a clue as to the location on the side of the stock. You might call McMillan and ask their opinion. They sell and install the GrovTec cups.

Left side for a right hander. Let's the rifle lay flat on your back without the bolt handle gouging you.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You................

That`s exactly what I was looking for, and hadn`t even given it any thought........ :-[

Yep..that keeps the bolt handle from stabbing you in the back all day long!! I bought the ones the McMillan sells.

He's dead on right. I'll add if you plan to shoot with a sling unsupported having one in the front on the right side in addition to the two on the left is a good move. The other option/opinion is one on the dead bottom...some put a rail on for the bipod and at the back of the rail will be a flush cup. That works too.

My tactical gun has two up front (one right & left) and one in the back (left side). I'm just dipping my toes into that game so I'm by no means an expert.

I run them on both sides but most of the time the ones that are on the opposite side have the sling on them

Yepper, same here (righty shoooter). Two cups, left side, for my killin' rifles. Leave the sling long and cross-carry (left shoulder-right hip). Keeps DBM/magazine/mag release tab from takin' a divet outta your back!

On tac rifles, same two cups on the left side , plus the Atlas BT-17 rail installed under the forend has a cup milled into it. I can see how having a cup on the front right would be advantageous for sling shooting, but that cup underneath works well enough. If I were to order a new tac rifle stock, would put two cups in the front, just because...
