Flush cups

Fella's I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out the best spot for mounting some flush cups, I have a Bell and Carlson Medalist and while it's not a REAL expensive stock I'd rather not be filling holes due to what I thought was a good location well wasn't. This rifle is sort of going to be based to shoot PRS matches so if some of you could post some pics of locations you have mounted your flush cups maybe I can get some good idea so I don't have to fill any holes cause I was stupid :) I know the front is going to be rather interesting due to the shape of the forend but sure I can figure something out.

Let's hear your suggestions and if you have some pics that would be rather helpful, thanks in advance for the advice opinions! Later,

Kirk

Personally? I would install a rail to give you all the options you could ever need. Hand stops, bi-pods, you name it can all be utilized on a rail. The basic rail stock is available from Champions Choice (I would go with Anschutz as opposed to Freeland - more versatile). If you are handy you can cut the channel by hand and epoxy the rail in place.

Assuming a right handed rifle?

For PRS shooting, would also assume a DBM/magazine fed rifle?

If so, you'll want front/rear left side cups for slinging cross-carry behind the back with the offside of the stock flat against your back.

Could also install a cup front & right if you will be doing any offhand sling shooting. Some shooters like to attach the front of the sling underneath & across the stock to secure, offhand.

As an addition/alternative, if you have a rail mounted for a bipod, get one like the Atlas BT-17 that has a flush cup integral to the rail, itself.

From that video link, there's plenty of others to watch on the sidebar

Good luck & have fun!

I shoot right handed. I have a Manners T-5A stock with flush cups on the left hand side of the forearm and buttstock, and an Atlas BT-17 rail for the bipod (which, as mentioned, also has a flush cup). If I were to do it over again I'd put another pair of flush cups on the right hand side. On my ARs I actually like the sling attached to the left side at the front and the right side at the buttstock, and I can't do that with my Manners.

Thanks fella's! yes right handed, DBM. I like the idea of the cup on the right side for sling shooting and the left, left for sling carry makes sense! On my AR I use a ching sling so both mounting points are on the left BUT the bolt rifle is a touch different sorta so thought it best to just sound like a goob and ask what everyone else was doing. Thinking another cup on the right side back for a bag attachment point... just too many goodies out there for the PRS shooters! just have to remember the KISS method lol RIGHT :) Thanks guys and have a wonderful Christmas! Later,

Kirk

I just put flush cups on the forend of my TRG and on the butt & forend of a Manners. I figured if I was going to take the time and effort to do it, I might as well put them on the left and right sides. I'm glad I did, because certain carry & shooting positions benefit from one over the other. Use a drill press (if you have one), a good sharp Forstner drill bit, and some epoxy, and you should be good to go.

P.S. I did clean up the epoxy once it was done!
