Pumice in corn cob media?

Prose

Silver $$ Contributor
So in some new RCBS corn cob was a little white bag of powder. Seemed a wee bit chalky and looked a lot like my 3FF Pumice that I use for knocking the shine of a fine oil rub.

Q: Does anyone use a wee bit of pumice in the media as a polisher as opposed to the typical liquid polishes? If so, what do you believe the advantage or difference to be?

my opinion, is that if it does not stay mixed in(as opposed to with) the media, some will come out
on and in your brass.
i would pass.

It certainly isn't going to hurt anything. You can buy walnut hull media containing rouge. Corncob media containing additional abrasives. Some put polishes in their media. Polishes contain abrasives, unless the are actually pure polish, which does nothing for you.

Tried a little pumice powder overnight. Very nice results with some old worn out media that otherwise would not clean or shine anymore. Used about a 1/2 teaspoon with 2 lbs media and 25 brass. @retired was right about needed a rinse afterward though.
