PTG Action Availability?

Sooner or later the doors will close. They must have contracts with big companies that keep them afloat, because if it were the general public they would have shut down long ago. If I need something they make I just buy it from a reseller that stocks PTG items. Never a problem doing it
that way. If the product is not sold by a reseller I just buy a different brand. Easy peasy and no head aches this way. Good luck on your purchase.

Same. I've never purchased anything PTG directly from PTG. I'm pretty sure commercial retail to guys like us isn't their bread and butter.

Paul, I bet your right. Direct customers are last. Distributing businesses are top priority.

Just a thought: I have a new 700 action I would sell. RR prefix, short action, single shot, .308 bolt face. I have too many projects now to get done before I turn 80.

PM me if you are interested.

How can a business keep their doors open when they operate that way??

A long time ago, they were the best around and supply some great smiths and builders.

I agree with the other comments saying they care about their repeat customers. I get it, the repeat orders and larger volume are how they make their money.

But then just tell the small/single orders the truth. Say it's not in stock. It will be 5 months. Don't take payment up front. Don't charge restocking fees for stuff that wasn't in stock to begin with.

If it was a custom order for a custom reamer, then sure I understand, but if it's a commoddity part like a go/no-go gauge then it's not right.

If you really need a PTG item, then find a reseller that has it.

For me, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

These threads have been popping up for at least 10 yrs. In 2013 I ordered a R700 223 bolt. I think it took 7 or 8 months before all the pieces showed up. As far as I know everyone gets what they ordered eventually. …

Yes, I recieved $4000 worth of on "sale" actions 10 months after they were ordered and paid for. By then my customer had moved on in another direction. Never again!

Yes but that doesn’t do the OP any good when he was expecting his action on a certain time line for his build.
Oh, that bolt delivery kept me from shooting a 223 in midrange for pretty much the whole season. I get it.

A reamer I ordered once back then took exceedingly long to deliver too. If my way back memory is correct that one kept me from finishing a 7-08 build for hunting season.
