Has anyone built a rifle on the PT&G B52 action? Any info would be appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Nice. I need to call them and see if these are in inventory or if the wait will take me into next year.

The B52 is an exact duplicate of a Stiller except it's Melonited crome moly.
PTG makes all of Stillers bolts anyhow.
Honestly I like it better than it's stainless brother, it's very smooth and the finish is very nice.

I Have built a rifle for a customer off the B52. It’s a very nice action. And very well priced. And no there not single shot the load port in the bottom will accept Remington style bottom metal. However when ordering one (BE SURE) to order the scope base with it!!!!! There is no other scope base on the planet that fits this action other than PTG! Ask me how I know. Of course there not in stock and made to order and you then will have to wait another 2-3 months for the scope base.

Is there not a set of 2 piece bases that will work?

Non that are pre manufactured. It’s Remington spacing but it’s a round action front to back where as a Remington has a step down in the rear. All other custom actions have Remington front hole spacing in the rear as well as the front. If you mill a Remington flat on the back you take your screw shoulder off and then have to bush it and that’s a lot of time one could be doing something else. They just gotta be different. I exhausted all resources before machining one myself.

I think that Shilen sells a rail that is the same. I have a Shilen/Stiller action and Shilen stocked the rails. The holes are for 8x40tpi.

Yes the screw pitch is same but the spacing is different I called Stiller first and he was FIRM that action was no part of his company and he didn’t have anything that would work. So I left him alone lol.

I may be money and time ahead to contact Gunwerks and buy a GRB action. I have emailed them to see if they have these actions in stock.

I’ve built quite a few GRB’s. They all seem to have loose firing pin/bolt fit and they refuse to address the problem. I have a few friends that have blanked a lot of primers because of it. I would take a hard look at the Defiance Tenacity.

I may just say the hell with it and true up my 700 and install a PTG 2 piece bolt and build from there. Thanks for all the input. When I have a little more time I may definitely look at ordering a B52. Thanks for all the input and advise.

The GRB action is a much better action and has some great features for the money. If I were looking for another action, the GRB would be very high on the list. Plus, you don't have to go through the agony of dealing with PTG. A win win in my book. :D:D:eek:

Are the B-52's, single shot or repeater actions?
I can't find anything on mag type specs, and there aren't any bottom pics of the actions, but it looks like you can see the counter top through the bolt opening in some pics.
The scope rail is $90, and the recoil lug is @$22.
So around $750 total, the way it looks.
Thanks
